摘要:
De novo protein design is a powerful tool not only for understanding protein folding and function, but for building new proteins as novel genetically encoded labels or as structural circuit components. In my talk, I will first talk about de novo design of oxygen-ligated tetranuclear transition metal clusters in helical bundles. The studies pave the way for designing endogenous imaging labels for investigating deep-tissue biological events. In the second part, I will talk about de novo design of amyloid-like fibrils and helical polymers both composed of α-helices. These designed cross-α self-assembled suprastructures can be employed as structural modules for programming novel cellular functions.
